WA Inclusion Agency receives many requests from Early Childhood and Child Care services to support them to include children who are falling behind with their language development.
There are many factors that can impact on a child’s language and for some children, when strategies are put in place by educators and families, they soon catch up with their typically developing peers and show great improvements with their speech and understanding of language.
Your Inclusion Professional can provide strategies and links to Child Development services and resources that can help. Some children will experience hearing loss that may have a longer lasting impact, so it is always a good idea to suggest to families to get their child’s hearing checked out by a professional if children show signs of a speech delay.
