One Tree Early Learning Kambalda is a small service situated 60km south of Kalgoorlie – Boulder who’ve worked with WAIA closely for two years.

Inclusion Professional Gillian Menhennet has built a relationship with Director Claudia and her team which has led to supporting and including more children with additional needs in their service.

The team of Educators including Gena, Dilu and Rania have been practising nursery rhymes using key word signing so that all children can participate.

Sand timers from the Specialist Equipment Library (SEL) sensory box have also proven useful for transition times (e.g. playtime to meal times). The team have been enjoying Gillian’s regular visits.

Gillian has been impressed with the Educators progress in implementing strategies and looks forward to continuing their inclusion journey this year.
