Brilliant Beginnings Treendale in the South West has been working collaboratively with WA Inclusion Agency for over two years to help build on their inclusive practises.
The service worked with their Inclusion Professional to develop a Strategic Inclusion Plan (SIP) for two of the rooms to support the inclusion of children with Global Development Delay and other additional neeeds.
The Centre Director commented to the IP
“It is good to have another person’s point of view and resources we don’t think about.
Collaboration with the families, therapists, Educators and Inclusion Professionals has focussed on the needs of the children, leading to Specialist equipment loans and access to Inclusion Development Funding to increase the child/staff ratio in the room.
Loan of sensory items, communication devices and specialised seating through the Specialist Equipment Library allowed the children to be fully included in the rooms activities and programs,
Great Beginnings Treendale has achieved great outcomes for children including 8 children with additional needs since the start of their inclusive journey.and has built up confidence and capacity with their staff team along the way.
